The sole purpose is to restrict the student's capacity to experiment with the computers. This includes installing random software or accessing an admin account. There have been instances when I remembered the admin password, but it wasn't intended for remote access.

There's a google docs version of all that. Maybe just cause it would be a lighter os so it'd make the students think the laptops were fast?
