the extender was meant for my PC because it was too far from the router. After several tries to connect my phone and studio lights, it failed, so I switched to using the hotspot. This worked well until recently. Previously, the hotspot stayed active on my PC at all times, allowing me to access Wi-Fi for my phone and control the studio lights remotely. However, about four days ago, this stopped working. Now, when I turn on the hotspot, it just completes the connection but then disconnects my PC, making it behave like a router without providing real functionality.

A lot of digging went on, but it turns out others are facing the same issue too. I’ll hold off until the next Windows update fixes it. I wrote this after realizing it wasn’t just me.

Considered a mesh Wi-Fi setup or using an existing router with a wired connection to a better location.
