As the title indicates, I'm facing an issue where my hotspot connects fine to my phone but fails on my PC. When I enable it, the connection works smoothly and YouTube occasionally plays without issues. The system claims internet access is active, yet nothing responds properly. This has only started recently, and I've tried searching online without success. No help from Google so far—decided to check if others have similar experiences. My setup includes a high-end gaming PC with the listed components.

You're increasing your connection strength by using your mobile device, aren't you? What about disconnecting from the 5G network to test the outcome?

You're trying to improve your phone's signal by using your PC as a booster, but the hotspot you're connecting to on your PC is disrupting your PC's connection.

You’re unsure about the purpose. I’m here to clarify what you want to achieve. Would you like help improving your phone’s signal using a computer?

It’s confusing because you could simply link your phone directly to the router’s Wi-Fi instead of making it a hotspot. Why add extra steps when a straightforward connection works better? And routing the phone through a hotspot isn’t necessary if you just want to use its built-in network.

since my router isn't nearby, I'm at the back of the house and the signal from the living room router is often poor or nonexistent. that's why I'm using a wired extender to improve the connection.

Yes, you can connect directly to the wired extender. You don’t need to create a separate SSID or handle routing unless you want more advanced settings.

Uncertain if anything has shifted since then, but the previous time I enabled that "shared network" option on Windows, it essentially linked one connection to the other. For example, your phone could join the cable network via the Wi-Fi adapter on the computer, though the computer couldn't access that link simultaneously. There were some restrictions on the subnet range. Still, improvements might have been made since my last attempt.

It's strange because everything was normal since August last year; now only the last few days have changed, which is why I reached out to the forums.
