Unclear why you referenced that specific post instead of the previous one. Indeed, highlighting a strong quad-core processor makes sense—newer Haswell i3 models should outperform older i5 options on the recommended specs, despite having fewer physical cores. This is mainly due to poor multi-threaded performance in games and why even an 8-core FX often lags behind a 4-core i3. I hope more titles are better optimized for multiple threads, which would boost AMD’s competitiveness with Intel, especially if they upgraded their desktop chips to support more cores like Broadwell. Hopefully my assumption about Witcher 3 is incorrect and the game actually utilizes all four cores consistently.
Games Works BS refers to getting paid when a game costs five dollars. It’s the same idea as all games works games. I previously canceled my CE edition. It came from a GTX 770, which was far inferior to this card. I won’t back this nonsense. I plan to replay Witcher 2 on Ubersampling before the price falls. This game had trouble hitting 30 FPS on Ubersampling with my 770 and runs smoothly at 60 on my R9 290...
I'm starting to wish I had chosen an i7 instead of the i5-4690k. I really hope it runs smoothly on i5 and 970, especially for 60fps—people say AC:U works better on the i7, but then again, that's Ubisoft, and still gives me questions about whether missing the i7 could cause a bottleneck.
