The requirements for The Witcher 3 have been revealed.
The Witcher details were posted on their site at http://thewitcher.com/news/view/927. Key specs include an Intel CPU Core i5-2500K at 3.3GHz, AMD Phenom II X4 940, and a GeForce GTX 660. The system needs 6GB RAM, an HDD with 40GB space, and supports Windows 7 or 8 (8.1) with Direct X 11. It also requires an AMD FX-8350 at 4GHz and an R9 290 GPU.
I've placed the order ahead of time, so I'm excited about its release.
It's been ten years since I last paid attention to "recommended specs." That's just a rough idea, people. The way it works has always been that way. When it comes to the 770 to 290 ratio, I could spend a whole page thinking about it, but I'll just say it's about how AMD and Nvidia GPUs behave differently—just like their CPUs. It might also be a "Nvidia title game" or something similar. Benchmarks will clarify this, or maybe the logo when the game launches will give a hint. It could even depend more on price than actual performance.
My 680 model should cover the suggested requirements. I'm curious about which configurations are advised to work best.
Check if your current GPU can run 4K and see what’s documented about Witcher 3 compatibility with Mantle.
