You recently installed a new RAM module, but it didn't click properly. You attempted to use your previous RAM, yet it also didn't work. This could indicate an issue with the installation process or compatibility.

I verified multiple times and confirmed the correct placement. It requires just one click, not two.

No, I didn't undo the latches on either side.

The non-locking side comes first. With a proper board, this setup works well.

Clicks are triggered by latches... when your slots only allow one position, a single press will insert the card. Press both sides firmly and straight down to lock the slot—you should hear the click. Certain slots won’t click at all. Some lack a latch on the side with the video card port since the card length might obstruct the latch or block insertion.

The ram is still active but isn’t clicking properly, which makes it risky to let it drop. I’m trying to avoid putting any pressure on it to prevent damage.

Currently without any RAM it appears as one latch that remains open.
