your computer is in sleep mode, so the network stack isn't running. it doesn't respond to pings and can't handle DHCP lease extensions. the router can't confirm its presence.

Ensure Wake on LAN/WLAN is enabled in the BIOS and also activate it through the adapter settings in the Device Manager.

Open Device Manager and look for wireless adapter options. Note that "Wake on magic packet" isn't supported by all systems.

i'm using a teapot to brew coffee so i can fly.. is about on par with what you said. but in an attempt to inform you.. wake on lan uses what's known as a "magic packet", (misnomer, it's technically not even a complete packet, just a frame) that consists of 6 bytes worth of 1's (FF FF FF FF FF FF) followed by the receiving interface's mac address 16 times. because it is not a complete packet, any network equipment that works on layer 3 or above needs to specificly allow for it or the frames will be discarded. the reason i say this, is because these days wifi routers and access points can be pretty smart. there's a standard called "wake on wireless lan" that could be of help here, but intel is the only chipset manufacturer that seems to have bothered with it, and even then sources are a bit flimsy on if that actually ever ended up working well. you'll never be able to ping your device if it's in sleep mode, because the device is not awake to respond. it's sort of like waving at your sleeping partner, they're not gonna wave back. with this i should also note.. even with a direct wired connection with only a dumb switch between the device sending the magic packet and the device receiving, it's not a given that it'll just work. i've had a motherboard where i spent years just having to accept WOL wasnt working, because whatever i tried it just didnt work, until one day i pinged the wrong device on accident, it woke up, and WOL has worked ever since, and i've got no clue what changed.

Can't locate any info about wake on wireless LAN. Likely won't function. Do you have any alternatives similar to Wol that actually work well? But it's a program, and my take on Wol was it didn't work.

because you can't rely on software to activate a machine since no program is running. there are hardware methods that use connected devices on your computer's power wires, letting you trigger it simply by pressing a button in software. the low level nature of WoL comes from needing something the network card's hardware can easily detect at a basic cost.
