Since you have known bent pins here's what I would try next. Remove the CPU from the motherboard and try to boot. It won't boot by any means, but we can still see if it tries to post with no CPU. Next step would be to eliminate everything else from the system. Remove the motherboard from the case and see if it'll post without being in the case. Our case in all it's glory has no reset switch.

From their header image, it seems they do, and there are differences among them too... Look at this compared to the one above. It might be pre-ATX, though I can't be certain.
