I'm facing a really confusing problem and feel stuck. Essentially, my PC connected via Ethernet isn't getting the full internet speed. Other devices work just fine, and I can see different results on my phone—300 downloads versus 26 on my PC. My phone claims I have 300 down, but my PC says only 26. It's unclear what's causing this. Could be an old router or a network issue with my internet service provider? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check if your motherboard uses the Ethernet port and whether you've installed the latest drivers. Verify if your device is connecting via DHCP or if a static IP address is assigned.

Verify your connection is exclusively through Ethernet. Some boards support Wi-Fi; if active and you have a signal, Windows might switch to it. Older Wi-Fi versions offered minimal performance. If unsure, try another Ethernet cable. Avoid bending or damaging the cable.

I'm analyzing the comparison between "26" and "300" in relation to MB versus Mb issues.

It wasn't something I considered before, but it does seem feasible.

Drivers have been refreshed and now connect via the motherboard port. It uses DHCP assignment.

Search results from Google and Ookla both reference MBS as a metric.

I need to inspect the cable; I've already swapped it, but my motherboard seems to be just a network port.

Did you test another port on your router or switch? Have you used the Windows network troubleshooter? Did you check for any malware? How is your network structure?

Router purchased in 2019: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y64...=UTF8&th=1 I've used the Windows network troubleshooter and checked for malware several times. The Ethernet cable appears to be a high-quality Cat 6, not a cheap one. I changed the port my cable was connected to on the router. I'm wondering if Spectrum is limiting my speed or if my router is just outdated—though I doubt it, I don't know how long routers typically last.
