I shared my issue online a few days back regarding my new PC displaying internet connection without loading any pages or downloading files. I investigated various solutions by testing different Ethernet ports, swapping cables, and checking hardware. Despite my efforts, the problem persisted. When I brought it to Best Buy, they connected power and Ethernet, and the device worked perfectly afterward. Now at home, it still struggles. Other devices function normally, and using the same connection as my old PC works fine. The issue seems linked to my home internet service. What steps can I take to resolve this?

We implement MAC address filtering on the network. You can manually assign new local IP addresses using the CMD commands: ipconfig /release followed by ipconfig /renew.

Attempting both commands triggers an error because the network interface is disconnected. The system displays the alternate port despite no connection, and switching ports doesn't resolve the issue.

Adjusting the driver often fixed the issue, though if it keeps happening consider adding a PCIe gigabit Ethernet card for about $10 to $20. For basic browsing only, a USB Wi-Fi adapter is sufficient.

I've also attempted this using a USB, but I'm loading the LAN drives for my motherboard from the Asus website. When I try to install it, it tells me my drivers are already current.

What is the make/model of your router and/or ISP gateway? How is your home network set up? A flow diagram will be helpful. Also include the type of ethernet cables you use. Try rebooting the router/modem/gateway. Run ipconfig from a command prompt and post the output details from the LAN interfaces. Run the network troubleshooter to see if it detects any problems and offers any fixes. You can also run the netsh commands that Microsoft recommends here under “Network troubleshooting on your device”. If the above doesn’t work, try a network reset (instructions on the same Microsoft page)

Here are the IP configuration details you provided. You've already attempted most of the steps, including setting the default gateway and pinging it, yet the internet connection remains unavailable.

Open a command prompt. Type "netsh int ip reset" and press Enter. Restart your laptop. Unplug the modem for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Try going online again.

You'll receive an error message indicating that the command cannot be executed, as 'www.google.com' is not accessible through the current environment.
