The new PC build fails to install any operating system.
Hello everyone, I recently assembled a new PC and it successfully entered BIOS. The motherboard displayed no LED warnings, and all components seemed to fit. The CPU temperatures stayed between 28-30°C, but I wasn't able to boot any operating system. When I tried the first USB drive with Windows, the installation froze during setup. The mouse remained unresponsive, and pressing CRT +ALT+DEL didn't work. Switching to multiple USBs with different OS versions still resulted in the same issue. I also used an official Microsoft CD, but nothing worked. Then I attempted Linux—POP OS 76 caused the PC to shut down instantly during installation, regardless of USB or storage. Elementary OS failed to boot BIOS. As a last option, I installed Arch Linux using a USB thumb drive/ISO, which worked briefly for a few seconds before freezing again. On the second try, it crashed completely and froze the entire system. Everything related to Linux caused shutdowns, while Windows got stuck only at certain steps. I'm reaching out for advice if anyone has experience. Thanks for your help!
Check if your system has this option and adjust it to the appropriate operating system.
The system shows the boot sequence clearly, and the storage device appears as connected in BIOS settings.
During the setup, the SSD connection failed. The Windows installer worked without issues, but it didn't show any SSD or drive information. After reinstalling the SSD, I tried again, but the installer crashed during setup. The problem appears to occur only when the SSD is connected.
Occasionally the system launches to the BIOS and I need to manually start the USB for the setup to begin. At other times it automatically starts the installation program or media (ISO/USB), but once I press install in Windows it crashes, while on Linux it simply powers off and restarts.
It looks quite reliable based on what I've observed from failing or faulty drives. Have you experimented with using an M.2 drive in another M.2 port if it's present? If the issue persists, it might indicate a problem with that specific M.2 slot on your motherboard.
