This bothersome colorful design gives it an arcade or childish game feel. When you defeat a monster, you're rewarded with various items to gather. Why not just provide ammo instead of those flashy elements? Just stop with the nonsense.

Is it a disaster? Have you checked the earlier titles?

I appreciate you updating this after five years. It was a bit confusing at first, but now I get what it means. You didn’t like the fact that killing enemies gives health and ammo, right? That’s what bothered me a lot when I played it. It felt like doom.

yes, and monsters didn't explode in the colorful bloom ammo items; you just collected ammo packs from the ground.

I overlooked the enemies' brightening effect meant to signal you can perform the fatality move on them, which becomes repetitive since it's the same pre-recorded animation.

That's meant to inform you about a specific detail. You have the option to turn off those highlights for Cinematic Kills. The elements that stand out to you are Blue,...extra health. Not ammo,...you obtain it around the level and by using the chainsaw when you're nearly empty. It's different yet similar; they emphasize quick gameplay and I think they didn't want average players to search for ammo or retreat from enemies just to get it. Health decreases after kills, while ammo only drops when you're desperate and fuel is usually easy to find in most levels, so it's always available. I understand why some people dislike it compared to the original method, but others like it too.

But think about how dull it would have been without these new features. Games have evolved a lot since the first version of dooms. I enjoy it—it has heavy metal, moves quickly, and you can easily destroy demons. Even though it isn't 100% faithful to the original, it's still interesting

searching for items near the level and placed enemies was really tough, this feels like painkiller or something

There remain those components, there are plenty of collectibles and upgrade items scattered everywhere.
It has definitely changed direction, but if the foes were unchanging it would result in a rather dull session.

don't waste time on collectibles, they only make you squirm
i prefer placed enemies, ammo, and the occasional spawnfest
that's all
