I just completed assembling my initial PC and decided to try it out with a game. Persona 5 Royal was the choice—I wasn’t expecting much performance. It runs at under 50 frames per second right out of the gate. I made sure it was configured for the 4080 chipset to keep the low-end FPS. According to Afterburner, it’s drawing over 95% of its capacity. Operating System: Windows 11 Pro, CPU: Ryzen 9 7900X, GPU: MSI Ventus 3x OC 4080, Power Supply: be quiet!, RAM: Dark Power 12 1000W, 2x16 G.SKILL 6000MHz, 32GB, BIOS: American Megatrends International, LLC version 1.00 from 9/14/2022.

The game limits frames to 120 per second, but you hit this limit during the initial logos, not on the title screen.

I read that it's engine capped at 120fps. Makes sense, I think it's optimized to push 4K@120Hz. Is there an fps cap setting that limits it to 60 FPS? If there's an artificial setting it would make sense that it's locked to 60 Hz of all numbers. Btw, I won't get a notification unless you quote my reply.

I just recalled checking if your system supports V-sync.

I had v-sync enabled, but it didn’t seem to help much. When using 1080p and 1440p, they only managed around 100fps to 75fps, and 4K stayed just under 60fps.

I attempted to adjust the power options in both Windows and the NVIDIA control panel to their highest settings, but there was no improvement.

Check your monitor's vertical refresh rate. Do you have G-Sync or Fast Sync support in your drivers?

The refresh rate on your monitor is 144Hz. You might be using G-sync as well.
