Hey everyone, I recently upgraded my motherboard, CPU, and RAM, but now I’m missing the display. I switched from an Intel i5 6400 to an AMD Ryzen 5 5500. After checking compatibility with both motherboards and APUs, it looks promising. Here’s what I have: a Gigabyte B550M K AM4 (new), a Ryzen 5 5500 (also tested with a 3600X), G.SKILL AEGIS series RAM (Intel XMP) at 16GB (2x8GB, 3200MT/s), and a Sapphire Radeon 11266-04-20G Pulse RX 570 with 4GB GDDR5. It supports dual HDMI, DVI-D, DP OC, and has a backplate. It boots up fine—case fans spin, the KBM light works, and I can reset the caps/num lock. However, when connected to the graphics card, no display appears. I’ve re-seated everything and even restored the original configuration, which worked before. I changed the RAM to a single stick, following slot 2/4 instructions. It seems the issue might be with the new setup or possibly a faulty motherboard. I don’t have any LED error lights, and I lack a speaker to check for codes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
It works when connected to the motherboard, but a system update ID is needed to reinstall Windows. You might also attempt DDU and reinstall drivers first. Regardless, reinstalling Windows is recommended.
Purchase a mobile speaker from the box, typically included with the mobile phone. If absent, obtain one for a modest cost. Without it, identifying the problem becomes very difficult. It might stem from any of the recent parts.
The last two boards I received lacked a speaker module. One even didn’t include any screws. It seems like I’m ordering budget models, so probably not expecting a speaker.
