Is the system still using the original manufacturer's storage? Were you copying the OEM drive after a hardware upgrade? You may need to switch from MBR to GPT format. Certain details about the drive can't be retrieved when secure boot is enabled.

They still have the SSD, though it's been reset and reinstalled numerous times before

It seems to include an original equipment manufacturer SSD. I faced the same problem with an OEM drive as well. No matter how many times it was formatted, the issue persists. Check out the guide here: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/computer-...ecure-boot

That seems more an issue with windows booting, I can load in to windows with no issue, its just getting the GPU to be detected. Unless ive missed something in the article

Navigate to the computer manufacturer's website. Locate your PC model and then the GPU driver information. Visit the device manager to confirm the GPU appears there. Before installing, verify your BIOS settings to ensure auto-detect is activated.
