It simply indicates the motherboard is receiving power and the switch functions correctly.

Yes, the beeps at Post require the CPU to be operational.

Have you checked the beep codes for that system?

If I may inquire, the reason behind attempting to operate this outdated machine seems to be either the pursuit of a challenge, a longing for nostalgia, or the need to retrieve information.

Thank you for the two links. My beep code isn't showing up there. I'm either getting no beeps at all or just a single continuous beep that keeps going until it's turned off.

According to what was mentioned before, it seems like a CPU or motherboard issue.

A bit of everything here, plus some guidance on how to fix things.
It’s not too hard compared to the problem I’m facing right now. The system I used has been running smoothly for more than ten years, but one day it just refused to start. Getting at the parts is a breeze.
I placed an order for a power supply earlier today; it should arrive next week. If that doesn’t work, I’d consider swapping it in with an E8400 or something similar for $7.

Thank you
Yes, I understand regarding the power supply, but I think there might be four separate voltage circuits in the supply and possibly one is faulty, which is uncommon but possible.
It has an AMI BIOS and it's a ThinkCenter Lenovo IBM model. Error codes for AMI and IBM both reference the power supply or MB/CPU for a continuous beep.
I will share my findings soon...
I plan to open a new thread about CPU choices, as this unit comes with an E8400 and I'm unsure about the best replacement options if the power supply doesn't resolve the issue.

Changed the power source but didn't resolve the issue. Removed the hard drive, RAM, and wireless card, then disposed of the computer in e-waste.
