I built my first PC and everything was connected, but it won’t boot into BIOS. It only starts when I press the small button to update the BIOS. Then the fans spin up and a red LED labeled CPU appears. After a few minutes, it powers down. This is my setup.

I try pressing the small reset button on the motherboard, but it doesn’t work. Doing the same with a screwdriver on the reset pins also gives no result.

When the device is active, press the power button. If it's already running, switch it off, then back on at the power source before attempting again.

It isn't in its original condition, which means it lacks a power button. It's a bare motherboard.

Turn off the device via the power supply, then re-enable it. Next, attempt to connect the power switch pins on the motherboard. Explain what happens during this process.

Consider sending a photo of the arrangement for a better review.

I attempted to connect the two power switch pins using two different metal screwdrivers after switching the power on and off, but it didn’t work. There seems to be current present; my keyboard’s color lights are active, yet it doesn’t react to any other inputs except the flash bios button.
