Others experience problems with how the kernel manages video mode versus the X server. Personally, I haven’t encountered this while using Nvidia cards in Ubuntu or Mint.

Running on my gaming rig with 8320, Ubuntu LTS performed well but the 18.xx version caused issues. The AMD GPU Pro would generate errors, making the Radeon 380 spin at full speed without any display output. This pattern repeats with the latest Fedora and Arch, suggesting a kernel-related problem.

14.04 seems to work, should be able to updrade to 16.04 and then to 18.04 right? (another strange thing is when using front case USB ports the installer failed and claimed there was no USB stick WTF?! O3O?)

I resolved the problem. Everything functions properly now. It was necessary to remove the graphics driver from the AMD website on Windows first.

I noticed a typo—should be 16.04 to 18.04. Regarding the issue, when you turn on proprietary settings, you can't log in anymore. It might be a permissions or authentication problem.

For AMD, it's recommended to use the open source driver included in the kernel. Even AMD’s proprietary driver is essentially built on top of this open source version. The efficiency of the open source driver usually surpasses AMD’s own drivers in performance.

I installed it but it keeps freezing, crashing, Steam doesn't function, USB devices stop working, and I keep receiving error alerts nonstop! Ubuntu seems to have really gone wrong! O3O
