However, it essentially eliminates the charity idea since customers are unlikely to pay a low price

Yeah, that's really not what I expected. My goal is to lower costs. I don't want to become wealthy without a solid reason. (That's why the charity aspect matters.)

I don't get why it wouldn't work—these people who want to give will. I believe you're adding unnecessary complexity where it's not needed. Making it complicated won't encourage donations.

Not going against common sense... Fans tend to pick up indie games when they're really affordable just to try them out. When word gets around, you can raise the price later. It's similar to early access—cheap during alpha but pricier once it's fully released.

Yeah, that part will be taken out. I might try donating to charity for a little bonus. Or maybe a "pay what you think it's worth" option.

What I said seemed a bit complicated. But honestly, it can be made simpler.

I’d just wait for the price to drop before purchasing. I’m not sure it would perform well.

Just sell it and then give it to charity if you really want to. Don't be responsible for encouraging people to donate.

In fact, that's exactly what I aim for. To encourage people to contribute and receive something in return.
