Hey there! I’ve got an I7 5820K paired with Asus X99 Deluxe and a 32GB Mushkin 3200MHz stick in quad channel. The issue is I’m consistently hitting around 4.4Ghz, no matter what I do. I’ve even tried boosting the voltage to 1.35V for 4.5Ghz, but it freezes right after a benchmark or stress test. It seems like I’m either running into a limitation or something is affecting stability. I’ve checked the BIOS settings—most of them are overclocked in ways that help, like setting CPU Capability to 130% and Power Phase to Optimized. But nothing seems to break through. I’m careful with other parameters too, keeping things in line with recommended values. I’m using a DeepCool Gammax L240 cooler, which helps keep temps under 75°C during heavy use. It’s probably working, but I’m not sure if it’s enough. If you have any suggestions or need help troubleshooting further, just let me know!

It seems like you're referring to a situation where the signal strength is around 3.3-4.4GHz, which is quite solid. It looks like your chip might be limited in handling higher frequencies.

Verify the CPU input voltage, it should be adjusted to 2V when overclocking.

I'm actually happy with the Cinebench score of 1331, but sometimes it crashes unexpectedly. I pass AIDA64 and have tested Cinebench R15/R20 as well. I've been playing heavy games for more than 5-6 hours straight without breaks. Still, it fails when running on desktop with a Watchdog Clock timeout and a blue screen.

Check the manual or settings page for details. It might be set to 2 volts, but confirm if it’s correct.

Cinebench R15 results show a multicore score of L15. The Cinebench R20 multicore score stands at 3058.

I noticed the client's 7940X seemed stuck after pushing it to 4.6, even with higher voltages. It didn’t respond beyond that point, and adding more power wouldn’t reach 4.7.

FYI, settings between 4.4 and 4.7 offer around a 6% boost, though it might not be worth the added heat. This is especially true now that the e5-1660 v3 is a solid upgrade. The best rating I've seen is 4.7, with a low of 4.4. I'm running 2600CL13 RAM.

I've reduced my Core Clocks to 4.2 Ghz at 1.24V and it appears stable so far. With a minimum of 3.2ghz and a maximum CPU cache clock of 3.8ghz, the performance is slightly lower on Cinebench, but in-game I can't detect any difference. Perhaps using afterburner in benchmark mode could highlight a few frames per second variations, though for League of Legends it seems unlikely to notice much change. I might consider lowering the voltage to 1.2 if that improves things, but the current max temps are at 69. It's unclear if it's worth trying the adjustment.
