You're experiencing lower-than-expected performance on your GTX 1070 setup despite having a powerful AMD FX 6100. Consider upgrading your RAM to at least 16GB, optimizing game settings for lower frame rates, checking for driver updates, and ensuring your GPU drivers are current. If performance remains an issue, explore hardware alternatives or consider a more capable graphics card.

CPU, Motherboard, RAM – nothing useful here. The 6100 offers little value; upgrading to a Ryzen platform could really change things.

It's a bit subjective to label it as such.

The FX6100 isn't a good CPU. It's an old, problematic processor that would be better left in a landfill instead of being used for gaming. It's really slowing you down significantly.

It can be decent, just not for gaming.

Intel 3rd/4th generation or newer models offer a 45-50%++ boost in PERCORE performance. Newer chips often outperform older ones, even if they have similar core counts like the 4C8T and 6C12T options. Performance on single-core tasks tends to be more noticeable compared to FX systems, where core strength significantly impacts results. Games generally perform better on single-core scores than on FX setups, which often struggle with frame consistency due to latency and spikes. Intel/AMDRyzen technology is vastly superior, making even budget used parts from the 2nd or 3rd generation run much smoother. Using a GTX1070 with a stronger CPU can deliver noticeable gains, especially when paired with an i7 3770 (non-K). Ryzen 6C12T provides the best overall potential, while I've seen FX setups hit 30-60fps or more, though smoothness is often compromised. HD7950, 7970, or GTX960 Era GPUs are recommended for optimal results.

This might become costly. A solid Ryzen setup covers CPU, board, and RAM. The 3770 model would offer better performance at a lower price. Which cooler are you currently using?

Many individuals resell used equipment, but avoid older i5 models. Opt for at least 8 threads if you're on a budget.

I also have another CPU, but I’m unsure if it would be better. It’s an i7 3rd gen with water cooling, and I’d also need to replace the motherboard.
