Water cooling can affect a motherboard's appearance. There are many i7 ivy bridge CPU options, each differing significantly. Water cooling suggests but doesn't guarantee a major overclock. Is this the model you're referring to?

Absolutely a night and day difference to problematic FX hating games. Even if a game uses only 2 cores 4 threads or the whole shebang!!, it'll be much smoother. I'd jump on this and deal with the annoyance of the swap. Just my 2c.
