It’s a 4-year-old EVGA GTX 1660 Super. I just changed the motherboard and loaded a game, right away it made a loud rattling sound. I recorded a quick clip to show that pressing/pulling one side stops the noise. The GPU is tightly secured to my case, so it shouldn’t be moving. Could anyone else have faced the same problem and fixed it? Note: No wires under the GPU that might have affected the fan. I’ve unplugged and plugged it in several times recently for another issue check, possibly damaging it. I searched forums but most talked about coil whine, which isn’t what I’m experiencing. check if the slight adjustment on the shroud prevents it, or if the actual fan wire touching it moves the wire out of the way enough. Sometimes after a certain time, the fans might start wobbling. On the underside, verify it is screwed into the shroud or placed directly on the heatsink and ensure the screws are secure.

I checked it carefully, gently rotating the fans with my hands to make sure they don’t contact any wires or the shroud. After reassembling everything and tightening the screws, I noticed something curious during startup—while the fans spun, there was no sound. It wasn’t until I logged in that the fan speed increased noticeably and it began rattling. That’s unusual; I wasn’t sure why it would happen at first. it seems like the issue might be something catching on it. Take off the cover fully and check if the fans still make noise. The sound suggests contact with a wire or the fan housing.

Most supporters eventually lose their balance in various ways, and the pace determines how it happens. What you observe at different speeds shows the wobble interacting with something nearby.

A significant crack allowed blades to bend outward at higher speeds and strike the shroud. Thanks for the helpful link! Now I understand how to replace the fan.
