my gta consistently performed well at over 45 frames per second, but after applying the built-in optimization it dropped to about 20 fps. Even when I restored the original settings, it still maintained around 20 fps. I own a GTX 970 graphics card.

It's odd how it behaves. The GTX 770 handles it smoothly at 60 fps when all settings are at their highest, but the shadows in the advanced video settings aren't working properly.

It seems you might have adjusted a hidden setting, haven't you? Have you looked at advanced graphics? P.S. Follow these options—I'm seeing 80-110fps now: http://imgur.com/a/xUxfc The 970 optimization is working great!

Outside the road offers no options. It's really disappointing. On the off-road, I manage around 40 frames per second to 120 fps. Outside the road is just terrible.
