Details: Windows 10 Home 64 Bit, Asus motherboard, Intel Core I5-3450, Intel Core i5-3450, Nvidia 970. Hello, a colleague of mine is experiencing an issue with his computer. The machine shuts down abruptly while playing CS:GO, sometimes restarting and other times not. The duration he can play before a crash varies, but after the first restart he can't finish a round. We attempted to upgrade RAM, ran stress tests using FurMark and Prime95 to check for overheating, reinstalled Steam and CS:GO. Adjusting graphics settings seemed to help slightly, though it still crashed after about 10 minutes with the same configuration. Would be great if someone could assist us. (Apologies if the message was unclear.)
Have you tried other games lately? It could simply mean your graphics card is no longer functioning properly.
We examined the event viewer, but there were no error events recorded for 20 minutes prior to shutdown, followed by a critical error originating from Kernel-Power.
Your computer just stopped working without any alerts or error messages while playing CS:GO. When it restarts, does it come back on itself or do you need to turn it off again? Also, what type of power supply are you using? I’ve noticed a bit of the same problem and I’m sure we’re in a comparable situation.
there isn't an equivalent to a blue screen that causes everything to go dark, even the monitor lights, and the computer restarts on its own. His power supply provides 600 watts.
