Hi there! I'm new to this platform, but I've been watching Linus on YouTube for a while now. I'm really into Titanfall and have even been a beta player. Recently, I found a major issue in the game that's affecting my experience. I'm trying to make money by streaming on YouTube and Twitch, and since I'm quite skilled at Titanfall (better than most in CoD), I'm recording myself playing. I'm currently halfway through a series called ROAD TO THIRD. My recording software is PLAYCLAW 5 (Steam version). When I launch Titanfall with Playclaw or similar tools, it slows down significantly—frames drop to just one every three seconds (about 0.3FPS). Also, pressing ALT+TAB causes the game to crash and show a message saying "Titanfall.exe has stopped working." I've reinstalled Titanfall completely (all 50GB) but the problem persists. I've also tried opening the recorder after the game, but it still crashes with a black screen. Anyone have any ideas or solutions? I'm open to any advice and will try everything.
With a compatible Nvidia GPU, try Shadowplay. Otherwise, I can't provide a resolution. I also faced similar problems with Fraps in many games, so I stopped using it.
I’ve confirmed using Shadow Play with Titanfall without any problems. It’s best to avoid spending money on FRAPS. The issue might stem from Titanfall being 64-bit, and few overlay programs are updated for it. Recording software functions properly as an overlay.
I captured a lot during that game, the only thing I appreciated was using the Shadowplay codec with Open Broadcasting Software. Shadowplay wasn't great from a picture standpoint, and the push-to-talk toggle-only setting was really frustrating. However, OBS handled everything well.
As mentioned before, every other program has crashed on Titanfall. I’m using an R9 290x, which means no shadow play.
Have you explored OBS? Both versions are available, meaning some testing might be needed. Also, turn off Origin in the game overlay—clashing overlays can lead to complications. Many users record Titanfall, so the problem isn’t with the game itself. What processor do you have? If you’re using a newer Intel CPU, consider trying Intel QuickSync.
I own an i5 4670K that's been overclocked to 3.8GHz. It's not a lot, but I wanted to give it a try, right?
Your CPU is compatible with Intel Quick Sync technology. It offers minimal performance effects while maintaining high quality. Make sure to turn on iGPU in your BIOS configuration.
Another GPU blocks access to my 290x, but Playclaw includes Quick Sync options.
