The uncompressed audio won’t significantly boost your HDD’s read speed unless you’re using an extremely old IDE drive. These files also don’t contribute to writing data on the disk, meaning write performance isn’t affected by them. Except for basic local settings, the game doesn’t store anything on your HDD. It never moves the entire 35GB of audio or even accesses much of it. This includes the various languages and voice lines the game supports. Only the small portions you actually use will impact gameplay, while your system avoids the extra work of compressing them. While your CPU handles compressed files, the HDD remains idle. The compressed data doesn’t require CPU processing while the drive does nothing. If you’re experiencing problems with DXtory recording, the issue lies with DXtory itself—not Titanfall. I can record continuously without any performance degradation using Shadowplay. Additionally, I don’t have an SSD, so everything runs on traditional HDDs.
Thanks for pointing that out. The issue seems more related to the arm, not the hard drive. Since there aren't two arms, it needs to switch between reading and writing often, which is frustrating. I'll try it out and let you know how it goes. Appreciate the help!
