The game is closing after a recent upgrade because the new SSD might be causing compatibility issues.

For Minecraft 1.16, ensure you have at least 8GB of RAM. Check if your version uses Java Edition or another variant.

I managed to access previous versions before I disassembled my PC to customize the case. After reassembling it, the device simply turned off. I’ve confirmed everything was assembled correctly.

Didn’t damage your CPU cooler? That makes sense as an explanation.

The CPU cooler isn't aligned correctly and isn't sitting right on the CPU chip. It seems to only turn off when you play Minecraft, but continues running otherwise.

It seems the issue only appears when I run Minecraft version 1.16 or newer. Everything works fine otherwise. I also verified the CPU cooler is properly installed.

what are the details of the setup? it seems a bit confusing... but since microsoft owns minecraft, i guess it might get just as problematic as their operating system. i recently had to reinstall my win10, switching from mbr to gpt. this change appears to be impacting updates—whether they work on this old machine or not, or if they keep looping through updates...

This setup seems unusual. The red loading screen you mentioned is common for Minecraft, but no other version shows that behavior. I suspect the issue might be related to the Windows update you installed.

I believe my only advantage over you is the power supply—a 750-watt unit running at 1600MHz with 16GB RAM, G.Skill AMD FX 8320, Gigabyte 970A-D3P v2, Radeon RX550 (4GB), and Red Dragon. I recently swapped out my CPU cooler for a DEEPCOOL model because the original mount failed after some time. Now I’m reinstalling Java Edition, which reports 16.5 but it’s slow to download and update.
