I logged out of the Battlenet app on my Windows 10 computer after it crashed. I don’t recall my password or security answer. I’m trying to reset my password but forgot it. I scanned my driver’s license, but covered my face and the license number because I don’t think anyone would need that. Why would they require it? I’m really sorry for the delay. With the recent releases of Legion, Overwatch, and the Warcraft movie, we’ve been busy at work! I understand you want to change your Battle.net password. To confirm ownership, we need a clear, valid government-issued photo ID. The one you gave has been changed and can’t be used. These photos won’t be stored for any reason—they’re only needed here for verification. For details on submitting ID, see this guide: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article...on-request. We look forward to your reply. Thank you for playing with us! I know many games exist, but we value your support. Have a great day and may your adventures be epic! (ó ì_í)=óò=(ì_í ò) Fist Bump! ME I don’t get why they asked for my face and license number when I never provided that info at all. My full name, address, and credit card are already recorded—those should be enough. And then they closed my ticket…

Many online platforms employ tools to verify if images have been modified. Sharing a picture with unclear sections prompts the system, leading to rejection.

Their advanced tools can identify the blur in my image, but the license details remain unresponsive to my request.

They require a pristine copy; you provided a modified version. Picture them skipping the program they were using, and anyone skilled in Photoshop could access your credentials.

They likely have a way to link that ID to your account, preventing others from impersonating you by sharing your altered photo. It’s unclear why Valve requires such personal information despite it being hidden in the support section, especially when trading through their platform and filing taxes is necessary.

You overlooked the password and security question because you weren’t careful. For better safety, consider using a password manager.

Many individuals trade in World of Warcraft accounts for significant earnings. Occasionally these accounts are misappropriated and taken over. Blizzard invests considerable resources in restoring stolen accounts to their original owners and strives to enhance account safety measures. They take full responsibility for their diligent approach.

It seems most people are okay sharing their government IDs with game developers and publishers, while I'm the one being a bit odd about it.
