it appears in the FAQ section for B.E.T.A. My view is that it bothers me to now handle another client just to play a PC game. I think Beth is trying to encourage more paid mods since the storefront is easier to reach. https://fallout.bethesda.net/faq https://www.overclock3d.net/news/softwar...esda_net/1

Many are seeking alternatives to Steam, and it makes sense to share in their frustration.

Oh yeah, that's what I'm thinking. We'll need separate clients for each top-tier title soon.

Bethesda retains most of the earnings, while Steam doesn't significantly erode them.

I usually enjoy Steam, but rivalry adds value. Keeping everything on one service where the company can shut it down anytime isn’t ideal.

The recent pattern shows more launchers being used for everything. If I can stop the launcher from launching automatically on my computer, I feel fine about it. It's not perfect, but it works.

It could be a system that displays your current games, lets you start any you want, launches the appropriate client, and automatically shuts down after playback ends. It might be named something such as GMI "Game Management Interface"

Wow! Just a couple more mouse clicks left to start this game! What a wild situation. Why would they act like that?
