Back in the day, each game had its own standalone install, but now it’s shifting back toward that model with extra features like "launchers" for publishers to promote their titles. I only chose Steam because it was more convenient then, and I’m okay with multiple launchers as long as I can disable them when not needed. If I have to go through complicated steps to turn them off, that’s when I’ll notice.

It wasn't what I was aiming for after all. Multiplayer survival isn't really my thing. I had a lot of fun tweaking Fallout 4, and I'm eager for the Fallout Miami update. Fallout 1 and 2 were the best...

I’d prefer not to rely on a particular launcher client for each Game Studio that claims ownership of its own tools.
