I just reinstalled DA:I for the new DLC and noticed some unexpected things when I checked my monitoring. Is this a bug or does it work with DX12? *9,2vram usage for 980ti sli—see this screenshot at 3840x2160 in ultra with MSAA X4. That’s insane to get 60fps with that setting! Any idea how to improve it?*
It doesn't rely on DirectX 12. Windows 10 has some minor issues.
I'm testing a 4K ultra setting using MSAA X4 at 60fps for smooth performance. I've been exploring it out of curiosity about the stats.
and unsure if anyone noticed but my GPU used 9.2GB of VRAM for a GTX980Ti with 6GB RAM
Heyyo, @ pat182 It's a memory detection bug in GPU-Z, MSI Afterburner and EVGA Precision.
It seems with my older 980, I was hitting 4GB at 4K without MSAA. Even with MSAA4, I still managed solid 80-90 FPS in smaller sections using the 980 Ti. I don’t think MSAA4 adds much extra load, and I’m not sure it would push me past 40 FPS in tough games. Maybe MSAA4 requires around 600MB more memory if you split it by two, but I don’t recall seeing that number. My current setup still struggles to reach those high frames.
