Just went through the demo on livestream and I’m still struggling with the visuals. Probably because it’s just a test or early build, but if the final version matches what you saw at 1440p with RTX and high settings (as it does now), it’ll be tough for me to accept. I’m not a big fan of graphics, but I’ve played RE4 already, so they’ll need to really improve the storytelling to make these visuals stand out in 2023. My current setup is: R5 5600x RTX 2080 Ti Gaming OC, 11GB RAM, 16GB storage, 3600MT/s DDR4, 2x8GB MSI B450M Pro-M2, max 2GB RAM.

Try running the original in 4K on the emulator—it’s a budget move. RE is gone for good. If you’re after a modern survival horror experience, go for Fatal Frame (4+5); even the older titles look great in 4K, with clean graphics. Just let me know what you think.

I don't believe we've covered the latest releases together, but I understand your point and it's not completely off.

It's great you're revisiting Logan Paul! I remember getting caught up in Black Water, but I've been less engaged since then. The Silent Hill titles I've overlooked could be worth a second look now.

I understand it's not for everyone, and some longtime fans weren't as enthusiastic. (To be honest, I only played a few levels before and really enjoyed it!) I believe they did a solid job with the 5-star rating—it starts slowly, but once you get into it, you can't help but keep playing. The final boss is something special! (No spoilers) For me, RE is that quirky third-person "horror shooter" style with odd puzzles, which doesn't seem to exist anymore except in a few odd remakes (I liked the first two, the third was okay but not great). So unless they return to their original concept, it's not for me anymore. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You were anticipating a certain direction, but I believe there’s more to the project than just high-resolution visuals and technical tweaks. It seems the core issue is that both the original GameCube version and its HD remake already had strong presentation. Why does it feel like a simple cash grab? For me, Resident Evil belongs in its own era for remakes—modernizing gameplay and mechanics would be ideal, while keeping the story intact would be perfect. New content could come later. If they can pull this off, RE4: Make will really stand out. I personally enjoyed 8 a lot because it felt close to the original and the narrative wasn’t overly weak (by RE standards). Generally, Resident Evil can be chaotic, but straying too far from that style often leads to disappointment.

These images display a polished presentation. The feedback on what was expected wasn't fully addressed, but I agree with your assessment regarding the narrative shift. While some visual aspects fell short—particularly the ground texture in the axe impact scene—I didn’t dispute that. I was questioning whether the changes felt like an overhaul or just a minor tweak. There were definitely areas where the visuals didn’t meet expectations, but I wasn’t challenging that. Comparing the current version to the original is helpful; the HD remake appears more refined overall, though it still has its flaws. In terms of texture quality, it seems comparable, with some assets needing improvement. Personally, the new engine feels distinct yet there’s room for further refinement before I fully embrace it. I’d appreciate seeing the first game in this engine as well, even if the REmake is highly regarded and the HD remaster is impressive.
