I've figured this out (or at least someone else explained it). When you use that feature, the selected area gets copied to the clipboard for easy pasting, which is a bit disappointing and feels a bit off. I want them to keep that option, but it would be great if it also saved a copy automatically. Win + Print takes the whole screen, while Win + Shift + S only captures part of it without saving. It's frustrating not having a unified solution.
