I just moved up from GNM to MG after playing with my MGE friend and winning one match, and tying another. Before that, I had won four solo queues in a row. I went 27-13 in the tie game I ranked up on against all MGE opponents, and then played against my MG team and my MGE friend. They got offline, and I played solo again. Surprisingly, I got matched against an entire MG team with only two MG players on my side, and I won 30-18 (top frag). The rest of the games varied between 6 and 15 kills. I’m confused about why this happens. If you win two in a row after ranking up, it seems like the game penalizes you by lowering your rank. They need to fix this. I usually only get evenly matched games when I play with at least two other friends. I can carry well, but it’s not that easy.
Keep in mind it's a team effort. Personal points aren't the main focus. The setup encourages concentrating on victory, and I believe the rules are balanced.
that's the key for serious players in MG—stay focused until the end, don't change spots often. work well as a team, communicate clearly, and stay calm when losing. The other side seemed to call out early and play too quickly. my squad had three members on each callout, while the rest were just unsure about their roles. When you reach a rank, stick with teammates of similar rank instead of mixing them up.
That’s my take, and people usually don’t care about online opinions, though that’s just my view.
It’s common to shift blame in these situations. Still, did you stay composed or did you criticize your teammates for not meeting expectations? Maintaining a positive mindset is key, even when faced with trolling. Just let it pass and focus on staying upbeat. Negative energy can affect everyone, both yourself and your group.
You mentioned playing against MG1, MG1, and MG2s—this seems confusing. Did you mean to ask about ranking or performance in those matches?
That was a previous match, I didn't rank yet. After two consecutive losses, ranking up caused my derank (based on past experience). The game I lost was 2 MG vs 3 GNM against 5 MG. They should balance the match so all are MG or all are MG at least in each game after someone ranks up. You can't assume there are always nine other MG players in a single lobby.
