The CS Go ranking system requires improvement.
The situation is clear—wins or ties are what determine your standing. You can't climb up after a loss, even with strong stats like 40 kills and a team with none. It’s only when I just ranked myself that I lost two in a row and dropped. If I had three wins already and a few losses to close the gap, ranking down would be tougher. After winning hard games (3-5), it’s easier to climb back down. Once you win, you’re at 40-0, with many MVP candidates, which really boosts your Elo. If your rivals are higher ranked, that effect is even stronger. But right after ranking up, team performance usually matters more than individual results.
I only play CS GO to see how far I can climb, so I know I’m getting better. Honestly, I’d rather not be global since you can’t keep improving from there—it’d feel too dull. I play mainly for skin drops to earn real money and boost my rank. If I didn’t care about skins or rankings, I’d just play like GMOD’s death match.
