I checked my task manager and saw my Speed is much higher than my Base Speed. I recently clocked my CPU but then lowered it back to its original setting. I’m worried about making a mistake or something unnecessary, since nothing is running on my PC right now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's normal for most modern CPUs to operate above their minimum speed, constantly increasing performance to the maximum they can achieve.

This appears to be normal performance under load. The system is handling high-speed operations efficiently, and there’s no indication of malfunction or error. It seems unrelated to any clock issues.

It's interesting, your R7 3700X operates around 4GHz and has even reached 4.2GHz. You're wondering if overclocking is necessary since it's consistently running above your base speed of 3.6GHz. AMD suggests a maximum of 4.4GHz, which makes the effort seem less justified.
