Gaming requires just 2 to 4 threads and relies on a single-core IPC and cache. Not every core reaches its maximum speed or power. A threadripper can achieve impressive scores like x5 or a 13,400, but gaming performance remains significantly lower.

the numbers are real, i've been testing and playing games to check fps. lately it's been between 120 and 134 on apex, but on the same map with a solid setup it stays steady at 165.

Refers to a drop in performance over time, such as decreasing from 165 to 130 FPS. Possible causes include RAM, GPU, VRAM issues, background applications, or network problems.

apex and hwinfo were the sole accessible tools. Monitored vram, cpu speeds, temperatures, ram usage remained consistent across runs. The same graphics card configuration was used for each test, and the only variation was in the cinebench performance (I ran cinebanch first, then apex).
