I possess an i7 4820k with a base frequency of 3.7 GHz and turbo up to 3.9 GHz by default. In the BIOS overclock menu I can only reach a 41x boost, and adjusting the voltage doesn’t help further. The overclock status appears in Windows, suggesting there might be an issue. Could certain motherboards have fixed limits on multipliers? My system is an OEM HP X79 (Pegatron 2ACE).

OC assistance with OEM projects has consistently been poor. Incorrect board selection for the job.

Yes, these fixed multipliers are often seen on other OEM boards.

I would observe the voltage, 1.52V will destroy any CPU that new

Try ThrottleStop and check the link provided. Look for a TRL button that unlocks Turbo Ratio Limits. Sometimes manufacturers keep these settings in the BIOS, but sometimes they get overlooked. Share a screenshot so I can review it. If the limits aren’t locked, you should be able to perform overclocking inside Windows as long as your BIOS voltage is correctly configured.

This limit stays at 41 regardless of your attempts to increase it.
