The computer was powered on after testing some settings, used the touchpad for over 12 hours without turning it off, and eventually shut down. I’m still unsure what happened.

Received the motherboard, moved all components to another board. Powered it on initially, it started but no display appeared. It repeatedly shut down and restarted until showing some output on the screen. I plan to run it for a short period to check if it will stop.

eh, this feels like having to reinstall everything every time something goes wrong... i own an MSI B350M bought in 2017. it's been used a lot over the years with overclocking. it still works fine and costs only about 60 dollars (which is really cheap). probably the RAM or PCIe slot got dirty, the CMOS battery died, or some cables came loose, etc. same goes for people whose CPUs stopped working—cpus usually don’t just fail completely. it’s more likely there were compatibility issues or improper installation, which is why the new CPU suddenly started (changing another part would have had the same effect). also, windows 10 from 2017 is still running smoothly!
