Details: Mobo model ASUS ROG Strix X570-E GPU, RTX 3070 CPU, Ryzen 7 5800x RAM, 64GB DDR4 at 3600MHz, 3dmark score linked. I've reinstalled Windows, updated drivers and BIOS, changed NVIDIA control panel settings, and re-seated the GPU—still no improvement. Recently it worked for about a year until a crash occurred with an orange DRAM light; I replaced the RAM then. Any advice?
Did you set up EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner to monitor temperatures and clock speeds? Are you checking if the 3070 is being utilized? Was your display connected via the motherboard’s video port or directly to the GPU?
The Ryzen 7 5800x lacks built-in graphics, yet its score suggests it might be using them instead of the 3070. The CPU rating seems acceptable, supporting the idea that the problem lies with the 3070. Based on the steps he's already followed, overheating or a fault in the 3070 appears likely.
Absolutely, it increases GPU usage significantly even during video playback, which suggests the issue isn't related to manual tweaks. It seems the system is still operating on default settings.
