the current configuration includes an MSI Mag A650BE 650w with 80+ bronze (switched from a ThermalRight Smart 600w), a 2070 Super IGP which replaced the 5700XT, an ASRock Phantom Gaming 4AC B550 motherboard (ordered yesterday due to possible issues), a 5700X3D chipset, and 32gb of DDR4 3200mhz memory. everything operates smoothly with good performance for extended periods, no overheating or blue screens, though the coils on nearly all components make noise when under stress. I've attempted to lower both GPUs and reduced power limits, but the sound persists. I've checked underclocking and undervolting with limited results, and even monitoring wattage during adjustments only drops to about 400w max. it's possible a short in the motherboard or case fans/RGB controller is contributing, or maybe the RAM is the source. Since I don’t spend much, this process has been frustrating, which explains why prebuilt solutions are popular now.

It's clearly a matter of chance, but I'm counting on the new motherboard to help. The PCIe express lane seems to be the problem, so if that doesn't work, I'll take drastic measures with my power supply and avoid buying another one.

That’s the GPU coil whine. Do you experience this noise only when loading the CPU, or does it happen with other components too? A larger power supply won’t fix it.

The GPU coil whine comes from the GPU itself, not the power supply unit. A fresh PSU typically doesn’t alter it, but it often becomes quieter over time. It reaches its loudest when using a brand-new card.

It really does have an impact. The coil whine was originally present but vanished, then reappeared several times whenever I swapped out PSUs in the systems I've worked on and repaired.

It's eerily quiet during Cinebench runs; most of the sound is coming from the GPU and the VRMs at the top of the motherboard. I'm really hoping a newer motherboard will help, but I don't really feel like buying another GPU right now.
