I was trying the new hardline bate and at first everything seemed nice and appealing. However, I began to spot several inconsistencies in the lighting. Some screenshots appear unnatural, and the game doesn’t seem to have a single consistent light source like the Sun. In one shot, you’ll notice a fake reflection on the dirt where none exists, and the shadow placement is off—like the sun is hiding a large building, so I should be in the shade. Another image shows reflections that look like skyboxes rather than real reflections. In another scene, the sun hides the building but doesn’t cast a proper shadow. I marked two types of shadows in blue and green to illustrate this. Understanding how shadows work makes it clear these aren’t genuine reflections. Overall, the graphics are decent for Frostbite, but they don’t feel very detailed. Just a quick note—this isn’t necessarily because it’s a beta build, as this is BF4 re-skinned.
You didn't understand? It's not only because it's the beta; the Frostbite engine is what makes the game F4, and it has a new look.
I thought they were just your screenshots. I wouldn’t have caught the wrong lightning. I rarely linger long enough to see these details, or worry about shadows relative to the sun.
