A 3700x model costs around $320 on Amazon. It offers 8 cores with performance near 5600x. You can sell older 1xxx or 2xxx models for $100–$150, staying within your budget. Many credit card providers now provide 0% interest installment plans for 6 to 12 months if you have limited funds. For instance, even though I wanted a $180 smartphone, I used a promotional offer and paid in 9 equal payments of $20. It’s risk-free, no long-term commitment, and works well as long as you don’t exceed your financial limits. Those with 1xxx chips shouldn’t jump straight to the 5 series; upgrading to a 3xx might be more economical, or consider bundling a CPU with a mobile device.

At least in my country the 5600 is flying of the shelf. The 5800 is quite easy to get, I can order one to day and have it in my hands in a few working days. For the 5600 they will get a new shipment 3. of April. And only a few. I also think a four core ZEN 3 would be in a great thing. For many entry level gamers or people getting their first gaming PC.

I would have chosen the 3600 option instead.

We used to talk about 4 cylinder engines a few years back. Sorry about that. 4c/8t CPUs work great for most people—think beyond just the small group of hobbyists.

The Steam Hardware & Software Survey reveals a different narrative. Not everyone relies on their device solely for gaming; in reality, the gaming sector remains relatively niche compared to the broader desktop market.

From a gaming standpoint, a 4C or 8T isn't enough. It's definitely Intel's space—they dominate the consumer CPU market. AMD is more of a specialty choice, something most casual users don't consider.

I don't think four main versions would come from a die. That didn't qualify for an eight or six core die. Here, we're focusing on a salvage operation. Creating such a CPU might be cost-effective if they can make a big enough stock.

They plan to launch them at a later time, similar to the situation with the 3100/3100x.

EPYC 7302 features 4 Zen2 cores plus one IO die, totaling 16 cores and 32 threads. Its MSRP was $978. If AMD were competing, selling a single high-end threadripper at $980 would be strong. Alternatively, offering four quad-core CPUs for $100–$120 each (including cooling costs) could match or undercut the price while still being attractive.
