Talking About Finding a Souls-Lite Game
Talking About Finding a Souls-Lite Game
Some believe it's extremely challenging to play solo, so I address the issue of not having a human partner by using the Handler Archetype, which includes a dog you can command. He proves to be quite strong in combat and remains resilient against damage when upgraded. Previously, the Handler was the only Archetype with a companion, but now there are many more available. One option is Summoner, allowing you to summon minions.
It also varies based on the weapons chosen and their upgrades. However, if you're seeking something less intimidating, this game might not suit you. My mistake was misinterpreting your thread title—I assumed it was Souls-Like, but I thought it said something else. At the time, I was quite exhausted from a recent move and had been playing alone. That, along with the Souls-Like aspect, might explain why I didn’t notice it then.
This example shows how powerful you can be with the dog and upgraded weapons. Observe how he targets the boss and keeps his minions at bay. He never fell or sustained significant damage, making him an excellent companion. I was playing on the simplest setting at the time, and I’ll confirm later when I reinstall with a 4 TB NVMe drive.
It's a fairly new and unusual term. Either way, quick recovery is good, but moving around is not ideal. I'm planning to watch a few more videos about the game. It seemed interesting right from the beginning. My problem isn't that I don't understand how Souls Like are meant to be played, it's the dodging mechanic that doesn't work like other games with dodging. For example, in Sekiro, the movement felt inconsistent, and even mini-bosses could still hit me from a distance. I think I could manage about an hour and a half of it, but if it doesn't work for me, I'd consider getting a refund. Maybe Souls Like and Lite aren't the right fit despite their appealing appearance. It's frustrating because there are so many visually appealing games with interesting ideas and themes.
It's common for most games to no longer offer demos, which is usually the best choice.
I had Surge confused with Remnant in regards to the mobs and 1hit.
I do like Remnant better by the looks of it but not the price lol. Might have to wait for another /better sale
Yeah, I also saw a lot of other games 😁. It felt like it was $6 (Surge), but it wasn’t exactly what I expected anymore. Now I’m just trying to figure things out. Plus, I only want to play on my Desktop and ATM with just my Legion Go. And regarding Epic... (and EA, Ubisoft), that’s a big deal. I’m sure Steam’s launcher is necessary, but the games act differently when run through the minimal launcher.
Agree 100%
Steam gets it right. GOG is good but a little bit of a mess quality-wise. The rest? No thank you.
Also,
IF
the developer/publisher doesn't force it there is no reason for a Steam game to require the Steam client. Plenty of games will run if you start them using the .exe file.
You don't get any stat counters but if you just want the game or maybe you're testing mods you can skip the client once you have installed the game.
Or maybe it's an old game and you need an edited .exe to bypass something (other than protection). For example The UFO Aftermath/Aftershock/Afterlight series do not run on integrated graphics but there are ways to trick them.
Haven't tried Max Payne but i think it also needs some tinkering to work on Win 8,10,11.
Now someone needs to sort out the rights to Scarface The World is yours, and release it. Because it can work on modern hardware with a patch and a prayer. And lots of swearing.
Not to be overly critical of Steam, but has this situation occurred? Steam gained popularity as a joke due to its affordable prices.
Other services had introduced exclusive games for their platforms.
I'm excluding Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo since they own their consoles.
