A person using an SFF Dell or HP desktop PC swaps the original 180W internal power supply for a larger ATX unit placed outside the case. This allows them to upgrade the GPU and transform their system into a high-performance gaming setup.
Not always an issue, but I recall struggling to run games on my old school laptop with an intel celeron N3350 and intel HD 500 graphics. The real problem was the CPU performance; the integrated GPU wasn't the main bottleneck since it had only 64GB of storage and just 4GB of DDR3 RAM, limiting it to games like Roblox and Minecraft (poorly). I remember moments when, especially in fast-paced Roblox sessions, the frame rate dropped to around 3 fps and never exceeded 30. After upgrading to an i5-6500 and RX 550 with 4GB of memory, it still wasn’t great for Fortnite—constant stuttering occurred, though it was manageable in most cases. My 7700x and rx 6800 PC is now my first dedicated gaming setup.
