Hi, I was struggling a lot while playing Valorant and never experienced this issue before. I noticed frequent lag spikes dropping from 144 to 50 FPS, but I managed to cap it at 60 FPS. Still, lag persisted, so I performed a system reset. After that, I reinstalled Valorant and the issue improved to just 1 FPS. In Task Manager, I saw around 33% RAM usage, 9% GPU, and about 15% CPU, with the M.2 drive at 40%. Do you think this is the cause of the problem?
Do you have a specialized graphics card and have you updated the newest software from Nvidia or AMD?
CPU specifications: Intel core i7-5820k
Graphics card: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 Ti AMP
RAM: HyperX Predator DDR4 3000MHz 16GB
Storage: WD BLACK SN750 M.2 NVMe SSD, 1TB SSD, Crucial MX100 SSD 256GB
Boot drive: 2.5" 7mm SSD
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5"
Power supply: uncertain, will verify later
System: MSI X99S SLI PLUS
It seems like you're expressing confusion about something not changing. You mentioned it was your thought but then added a dismissive tone. Let me know how I can help!
I opened up today and all the Windows updates were applied, it wasn't that severe but it's still an issue. The frame rate dropped from 40 to 5 frames per second now.
