Before purchasing new fans, I decided to clean my PC and check if that would help. I’ll keep updating soon—maybe I’m just too lazy, but I need to see if a little cleaning makes a difference. The computer restarted after a bugcheck (ID: 0x00000116). A dump was saved at C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. According to Event Viewer, there were no error codes. I expect the second monitor to become primary after the restart, but if it fails, the system might shut down entirely. I’m not sure how to interpret HWiNFO or BIOS settings, so I’ll look into those later.
Update your video driver for the best performance. Get the newest version for your device. Next, install DDU to manage display settings. Restart in safe mode and clear current drivers with DDU. After that, come back to Windows normally and apply the latest driver update.
I downloaded DDU but wasn’t entirely confident about the setup. I rebooted in safe mode and used DDU to clean and restart my display drivers. I think that was the intended step, but I’m now downloading the newest driver from NVIDIA in the hope it works.
At 11:54 PM, the PC restarted again after a bugcheck. The issue was identified as 0x00000116 with specific details and a dump saved to C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report ID: df74ddab-d661-4740-a2c6-d2d18bf50c27. You were notified of the message.
posting that memory.dmp could attract attention. your rig’s CPU is throttled. a friend with identical hardware reached 100°C and also used a 3090; he had an older 8700k and it was easier. i recommend deleting it or having someone fix it. if done properly, temps should drop about 20°C. use hwinfo64 to monitor temperatures.
I had someone examine this and they consistently pointed out the problems with NVIDIA drivers. The issue started in March of this year, and I rolled back as much as possible before the first restart (or what I think was the first restart). I’m currently using version 531.18, which came out on February 28, 2023. I’m hoping this update will resolve the problem. Before the crash, I couldn’t monitor temperatures directly unless there were logs available. I’m going to investigate this “delided” situation further. I wasn’t familiar with it before, and I plan to use HWiNFO on my second monitor to track CPU temperatures.
