System frequently restarts following RAM insertion.
Hello everyone! I purchased two 16GB 3600MHZ Corsair Vengeance Pro RAM sticks and installed them. My PC functioned properly after a short while, but it would keep rebooting. After replacing the old RAM, everything worked fine again. Could this indicate a faulty RAM module? Should I consider getting a new one? Are there other solutions? Also, could the issue be related to my motherboard since it's a prebuilt system? My motherboard model is B460H6-EM (U3E1) by Medion. Thanks for your help!
It seems some prebuilt units might be intentionally limited in compatibility to favor certain vendors, often with inflated pricing. Technical details like the processor or graphics card are important for proper fit. Additional information is needed to assess risks. Updated June 28, 2022 by An0maly_76
I think you might have the right idea... the 10400 only allows up to 2666 MHz RAM. See the Intel page for details. Note that some users may exceed this speed, but performance isn't guaranteed. Just because one manufacturer can support it doesn't mean others can too. Updated June 28, 2022 by An0maly_76 Added more info
Clear CMOS once you install new RAM. Your system will run at a maximum speed of 2666 depending on your CPU and chipset.
