Hello everyone! I purchased two 16GB 3600MHZ Corsair Vengeance Pro RAM sticks and installed them. My PC functioned properly after a short while, but it would keep rebooting. After replacing the old RAM, everything worked fine again. Could this indicate a faulty RAM module? Should I consider getting a new one? Are there other solutions? Also, could the issue be related to my motherboard since it's a prebuilt system? My motherboard model is B460H6-EM (U3E1) by Medion. Thanks for your help!

It seems some prebuilt units might be intentionally limited in compatibility to favor certain vendors, often with inflated pricing. Technical details like the processor or graphics card are important for proper fit. Additional information is needed to assess risks. Updated June 28, 2022 by An0maly_76

Thanks! Your setup includes an Intel Core i5 10400 and an RTX 3060 Ti. It seems the system isn’t allowing you to fully utilize your RAM, and you’re wondering if a new motherboard might help resolve this issue.

It might work, but verify if it backs up 3600 first. BIOS typically includes an option like XMP or DOCP for RAM overclocking, which automatically adjusts the memory to its maximum performance.

I think you might have the right idea... the 10400 only allows up to 2666 MHz RAM. See the Intel page for details. Note that some users may exceed this speed, but performance isn't guaranteed. Just because one manufacturer can support it doesn't mean others can too. Updated June 28, 2022 by An0maly_76 Added more info

Clear CMOS once you install new RAM. Your system will run at a maximum speed of 2666 depending on your CPU and chipset.

It seems like your RAM was stuck at 2666 regardless of the RAM modules you used. I think you might want to try a different motherboard and CPU, which could resolve the problem. Thanks a lot!
